Greetings!

Welcome to Country Fox Exploring! My name is Debbie and I live in Western PA. I grew up in Somerset County. I currently live in Cambria County and I work in Indiana County. All my life I have heard those around me bemoan the lack of anything to do in the area. Everyone traveled out of town, maybe even out of state to find interesting vacation spots.

When I moved in with my boyfriend, now husband, we lived in Ebensburg. A quaint town with a deep history, I soon began to see advertisements for events going on in the area. I was surprised. I had no idea how much was going on in Ebensburg and its surrounding areas. I acquired a cashiers job at the Johnstown Area Heritage Association museums and discovered a whole new world of interesting local attractions. Eventually, I started to work in Indiana County and thanks to my co-workers I have found great shops and events in that area too.

Thankfully my husband shares my love of history and exploring. We have gone hiking and backpacking along the Laurel Highlands Trail. Running and biking along many of the Ghost Town Trail sections. We have gone out to eat at many of the local restaurants and shopped in many of the local stores.

My hope is to use this blog to provide you with a fun and detailed account of stores, restaurants, fairs, town events, music events, and fun facts about the local area. Hopefully, you will discover some new events and places in your town. I hope you join me on my journey through this fascinating state.
