Pajama Party Brunch

April 24, 2020 by Debbie

Hello all and happy Holiday season! This past Sunday my husband, two friends and I attended the gastro-pub Pour for their second annual Pajama Party Brunch. This event was a huge success last year and judging from the number of people there it was a huge success this year.

Photo of the menu.

The Pajama Party Brunch (PPB) has four courses of food all paired with a craft beer. The first course was cute and simple. It was a cute little holiday cookie served with a Holiday Cookie Milkshake IPA. The beer was a nice citrus style IPA that when used to wash down the cookie took on a milkshake flavor.

The second course was a flavorful Huevos Rancheros Tostada with black beans, chorizo, pico and a ranchero sauce. This was served with a Goggles Double New England IPA. This was a delightful presentation of Huevos Rancheros. The beer was a little similar to the first with slightly less citrus.

The third course was Apple Cider Roast Pork with root veggie hash, a poached egg with spicy Hollandaise sauce. The beer was a Moonlit Imperial Stout. While I’m not normally a fan of runny eggs, paired with this hollandaise sauce and the pork it was wonderful. This beer was probably my favorite of the day. I’m a stout fan though.

The final course is dessert. A beautifully sweet Sticky Bun and French Toast with a bourbon maple syrup. This was paired with a BA Sticky Imperial Milk Porter aged in bourbon and maple barrels. This was such a nice dessert. Sweet and syrupy. The beer was dark, thick and very tasty.

As always, Pour is a wonderful place to visit with amazing food and a great variety of drinks. This year the brunch was in conjunction with New Trail beer whom supplied some wonderful pint glasses.

May you all have a wonderful and bright Holiday season. Take care!
