PotatoFest

September 27, 2021 by Debbie

Nothing says fall like Ebensburg’s PotatoFest. This weekend graced all visitors with the perfect weather for the 30th Annual PotatoFest. If you have never been, you are missing out.

Potatoes?

Yes, the last Saturday of September is dedicated to the lowly potato. How can an entire festival be dedicated to potatoes? Well, Cambria County is the second largest supplier of potatoes in the state! This festival allows us to celebrate the potato and the hard working farmers who provide them.

PotatoFest

Many of the vendors at PotatoFest supplied potato related food items. There were the standard fries, potato chips and potato soups. Pierogi were also avialable. Other unique items included potato candy and potato sundaes.

Potato dishes may not be your thing. If not, there were plenty of other foods available. Barbeque foods, hot sausage, chili, funnel cakes, popcorn, and apple dumplings to name a few.

Crafts

This event draws in over 200 crafters and artisans. There are arts and crafts vendors for just about everyone. Hand crafted soaps, wooden goods, art work, jewelry, and sewing crafts name a few of the vendors selling their goods.

Entertainment

Music was being played all day at four seperate locations. Times were staggered as were the types being played. Dance Groups danced in the VFW lot.

Events such as bounce houses and mini golf were available for kids. Wine tasting and axe throwing were available for the adults.

PotatoFest

Next year, on the last Saturday of September, I hope that you make your way to this darling festival. Several streets are shut down to allow over 200 vendors space. Free shuttles and parking areas are provided for visitors.
